Background Information

I graduated from Mt. Carmel H.S. in San Diego in 1996. After high school I went to Palomar Jr. College for two years and then transferred to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). At UCSD, I studied Mechanical Engineering and got my B.S. degree in the year 2001. I've always wanted to work for JPL, so after I graduated from UCSD, I applied for a position at JPL and then got an awesome job here.

Contributions to Mars Exploration

I am part of the sequence adaptation team. I will try to explain what "sequencing" means in very general and non-technical terminology: The Mars Odyssey Spacecraft (spacecraft is abbreviated as "s/c"), like any other spacecraft that has been built up to now, does certain things autonomously, but for the most part it has to be controlled and told what to do via the scientists and the spacecraft engineers.
